Job Openning – Cotter-Gassville Sewer Plant Operator

The Cotter-Gassville Wastewater Department is accepting applications for the position of PLANT OPERATOR. Wastewater licensing preferred but not required. Starting salary is $14.00 per hour depending on experience. Paid benefits including vacation, employee health insurance, and retirement (APERS). 2021 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report

Attached is the City of Cotter’s Annual Drinking Water Quality Report for posting as required by the Arkansas Department of Health. The Health Department monitors our water quality according to Federal and State Laws. The table shows the results of our monitoring for the period of January 1st to December 31st, 2021. There were not any violations noted in the report.

City of Cotter is under a Water Boil Order

UPDATE: THURSDAY MORNING 7:00 AM – WATER MAIN BREAK FIXED, WATER AVAILABLE FOR RESIDENTS, BOIL ORDER IN EFFECT.

A boil water order has been issued in the city of Cotter. According to a post on the Cotter City Hall Facebook page, a water main break occurred at the intersection with U.S. Highway 62/412 and Harding Boulevard (U.S. Highway 62B) Wednesday night. Mayor McGeorge Caradine says repairs were finished around 1 am Thursday morning.

The Baxter County Office of Emergency Management is assisting Cotter City Hall in making sure each resident has the appropriate amount of water needed. The OEM Office will deliver bottled water to the Cotter Fire Department AT 950 Harding Blvd, sometimeThursday morning. The boil order will remain in effect until further notice. Water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 12, 2022 – Cotter is UNDER A BOIL ORDER. THIS MEANS YOU MUST BOIL YOUR WATER BEFORE DRINKING, COOKING OR INGESTING. There has been a water main break at the intersection of Highway 62 and Harding Boulevard. Cotter Water Dept. is aware and on the scene and will work diligently throughout the night to fix it. The Water should be back-on sometime Thursday. Please conserve your water as we work to resolve the issue. Bring your water to a boil for at least one minute. Once the water is fixed and back on, you may shower, flush toilets and wash clothes with the regular water, but boil water for food or drinking. This will be in effect until further notice and we alert you when the boil order is lifted.

Last night Judge Pendergrass has approved an Emergency Declaration for the National Guard to bring a potable water Tank to the the City of Cotter to distribute to its residents in the next few days. The Water Tank will be station at the Cotter Fire Station on Hardking Blvd. Baxter Country Emergency Managment Team will deliver bottle water to the CVFD in the mean time.

The City of Cotter Public Works Department is accepting applications for a STREET/WATER DEPARTMENT CREW EMPLOYEE. Experience in Street and Water Systems maintenance to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the construction, lawn maintenance and repair of City streets, water line, parks, cemeteries and related facilities. Operate mowers, tractors, vehicles and other equipment; utilize a variety of hand and power tools for maintenance work; assist in routine maintenance of such equipment. CDL License preferred but not required. Salary range $13.00-$15.00 per hour based on experience. Includes Retirement Plan and Health Insurance.
